The best thing I shared with my 92 year old grandmother on her 90 birthday was her Eulogy. I wrote it for her as a gift - for her 90th birthday. My grandmother is a best friend and role model - I wanted her to hear how I felt - and not just keep my feelings inside or wait to share them with others. Instead, I decided to tell her exactly how much she means to me and to my family. I think it was the best gift I have ever given. I know my grandmother blieves it is!

This week, between trips across Canada and to Boston, I got a phone call from my mom about improving my hair. "Your hair looks terrible", said Mom. "I hope that you don´t mind, but I´ve called your [beautiful] cousin Brenda for the name of her salon." "Thanks Mom", I said, and of course did nothing because I´m trying to keep my head above water. A couple of days later, the call comes in. "Have you made the appointment yet?"
I´m 52. My hair isn´t my life. But I try to remember that unconditional love is of incomparable value and that it sometimes involves the hair and beauty police. Mom, thanks for the unconditional love - you can always buy conditioner, but a mother´s love is unique and has only one source. Thank the Lord you´re still with me.
